Studio
Morrisstudio is the London-based H&G Top 100 interior design firm founded by director Tom Morris in 2018. Having spent more than a decade working as a design writer and critic before setting up the business, Tom takes a journalist’s more considered approach to creating homes. There is a natural attraction to things with a story rather than interest in just style alone.
Craft is at the studio’s core. Its projects are defined by the handmade and the individual — places where practical needs are put first and the human hand is always felt.
Service
Morrisstudio offers a variety of services to meet the particular needs of each client ranging from the commissioning of bespoke objects, consulting on the use of space to devising and executing the interior design masterplan of an entire house.
We work predominately in residential design and on few projects at any given time, meaning each home we create is looked after in detail in a usually collaborative process with a close network of craftspeople.
The studio is currently working on projects in London, Sussex and Suffolk.
Biography
In addition to running Morrisstudio, Tom is the author of a number of books including New Wave Clay and The Monocle Guide to Cosy Homes. He worked for many years as a design journalist prior to setting up the studio and led all design and architecture coverage as design editor of Monocle. There also hosted more than a hundred episodes of the magazine’s Section D weekly podcast. He was a regular contributor to the FT Weekend, AD and Wallpaper magazine and his commercial work saw him collaborate with brands such as Louis Vuitton, Lexus, Uniqlo and Loewe.
He served on the juries of the Biennale Interieur and the Officine Saffi awards and curated the exhibition Mess: Expressionism and Experimentation in Contemporary Ceramics at The Future Perfect in New York in 2020. He lives in the Barbican.

“Working with Morrisstudio was a transformative experience for our home and a total pleasure. From the outset, Tom truly understood how our family lives and uses each space, crafting designs for our home that are not only stunning but also practical. The concepts were beautifully creative and sympathetic to both the character of our home and the aesthetic I had in mind. The use of materials – exquisite tiles, luxurious surfaces, impeccable lighting — was complemented by his talent for combining colours in a way that feels both bold and harmonious with thoughtful, unexpected touches. Tom’s professionalism and the reliability of the tradespeople he collaborates with made the entire process smooth and stress-free. I was kept updated every step of the way, and his warm, attentive personality made him an absolute joy to work with. The result is a home I adore. I feel a deep sense of joy every time I walk through my front door.”
